Prof. Lee is a pioneer in the fintech, blockchain and digital assets industry in Asia and has actively worked to advance financial inclusion through technology. He brings a wealth of investing and operating experience to Artichoke Capital.
In his prior career, he founded and ran Ferrell Asset Management, and served as CEO and Group Managing Director of OUE Limited, a publicly-listed real estate development, investment and management company in Singapore.
Excited about the potential of decentralized systems to bring greater financial inclusion, he delved deep into crypto and blockchains in 2014 and has been an active participant in the ecosystem ever since.
Prof. Lee took on a series of professorships, including at the National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
He was a Fulbright Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in 2015 where he researched digital assets and fintech.
Prof. Lee cofounded BlockAsset Ventures (now part of the gf.network) with other blockchain industry veterans to invest in the digital assets ecosystem. He is a founding investor and advisor in many early projects alongside other pioneers in blockchain technology.
He currently serves as Chair of the Global Fintech Institute and Vice President of the Economic Society of Singapore. In his prior career, Prof. Lee was also an active contributor to the hedge fund community, serving as the Founding Vice Chairman of the Singapore chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association, a member of the SGX Security Committee, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Financial Research Council.
